So, I apologize for the hiatus here! Matt and I just adopted our first child - Aiden Lee Kuecker - who is now 2 months old. Getting back on the wagon now. :)

It's May Day this weekend, which means camp registration is due. Of course, in true Brethren tradition, all of your registrations will be fashionably late. We forgive you!

We've tried to make it easier on you by offering an online pre-registration form. This will help us get a good head count, even if you're just not ready to mail in the paper version. Click on the Schedule and Registration link to do it today.

As always, all dates and times are listed on the website. Feel free to contact any camp staff if you have questions about camp. Don't let a silly worry or question stop you from coming - we have answers for everything! HA.

See you soon!

Timberline Changes
By Camp Pine Lake | January 19, 2010 at 10:44 AM EST | No Comments

Alright, don't freak out, but we're making some changes here at camp. BUT, I promise it's in your best interest.

The board approved sectioning off two private bedrooms in Timberline this fall. Matt and Marlin Hershey from S. Waterloo started framing last week.

There will be 2 rooms on the east side of the building (toward the girls' bathhouse). One will hold 4 bunks, the other a bunk and hopefully a queen-sized bed eventually. We'll also be able to have a few bunks in the open space.

We're hoping this will help Timberline be a more functional building for all groups who use the camp. Private bedrooms are always a plus for our adult visitors and volunteers (hint, hint).

I'm pretty excited they're including a closet for TP and paper towel storage. Woo hoo!

I haven't figured out how to add photos on this section section, but you can check out photos of the project on our Facebook page. Search Camp Pine Lake.

Hello World!

Thought I'd start a little newsfeed to keep the masses updated on CPL happenings. Issue 1!

Ever wonder what camp is like when it closes up over the winter? One word comes to mind on a snowy day like today: SIBERIA.

In all seriousness though, Matt and I live here year round and camp isn't quite as much to write home about onces the leaves fall, snow arrives and there's anti freeze in the toilets.

Kueck (Matt) is always making fun of me because I think any little thing could be a 'sign' from God. Hey, if you're not listening how are you supposed to hear anything, right?

I think looking out on an empty camp is a good reminder the camp is truly nothing without the people. Since Kueck and I focus more on the property, our time is often spent thinking about what needs painted, fixed or what might be built in the future. But if there are no campers here to make a joyful noise, what is the point?!

Yes, we have awesome groves of trees and a super sweet tire swing, but camp will always be built upon each of you and the Big Guy! Hurry back now - See you here when the sun is shining.
